First of all, thank you to those who have supported me and enjoyed my art up to now; I'm happy to now have 10 watchers and over 1000 page views. Yay!

EDIT: Commissions closed at this time, please keep watch for updates coming soon!

I'm working on some external pages, such as a Tumblr and a Twitter, and I will post links once there's something to look at.

Please message me if you are interested (or have any suggestions)!  Any further details can be discussed one-on-one.  Thanks!  :tehe:

Hello!

4 min read

Honestly, I mostly just want to take advantage of today's free stuff, and there was this LoZ skin on the first page, so... here we are.

First of all, I've been really happy to see people enjoying my art, even if I've only been noticed by a handful of you so far.  (Right now, I have seven watchers and almost 600 page views.  Baby steps, baby steps...)  I hope more will come in time, but thank you to those who have already visited! Huggle!

I'm pleased to say that I've stuck by my New Year's resolution to get back into my art practice; for the last several years, I've been feeling increasingly stagnant in my art--bogged down by high school and college work--and this year I finally decided I've had enough of just thinking about things that never get drawn and having to show people paintings from 2011 when they ask to see my art.  However, I've been in Japan for the past 8 months with none of my art supplies except for my Wacom pen+tab, so I'm taking the opportunity to practice working in digital art.  Two birds, one stone!  I do want to pick up my pencils and pastels when I get back to the States, though, and I'm also planning to try out Copic markers in the near future.  Stay tuned!

Speaking of things to stay tuned for...

As some of you may have noticed, most of my recent uploads have been Gaia Online avatar art commissions.  I enjoy these because they're a fun way to practice composition and technique with a variety of character types I probably wouldn't think up on my own, and also a good chance to try out different art styles as I'm dabbling in digital drawing.  Plus, I get a little something for my time (in-game gold and items) without having to worry about the added pressure and hassle of real-life commissions while I'm in school.

However!

This summer, I'm planning to start accepting commissions for real!  As you can see from my gallery, I've done a few traditional media commissions in the past, but this year I'd like to increase the volume in order to countervail the desolate void that passes for a job market in my area.  I don't know how to deal with shipping&handling for chalk drawings, so those will probably be limited to local Craigslist orders or something, but I'm going to look into ways to sell other types of traditional and digital works.  So please let me know if you have any advice for selling art (or know of good resources to look in to); if you would be interesting in potentially placing an order, keep an eye out for another announcement in the next month or so! I am a dummy!

That's all for now! またね~ :navi:
